Hi, I’m Vidhi!

As a passionate youth mental health advocate, I believe that the easiest way to improve collective mental health is to produce work that is accessible and fun to consume! I illustrate books pro bono with Canadian non-profit organizations and youth advocates as well as serving as a panelist nationally and globally to advance mental health education equity. As a part of my mission to achieve SDG 3 (good mental wellbeing and health) for all, I partner with organizations to publish my books for free. All illustrated books can be ordered through this website only.

Ravi's Time of the Month!

When Ravi’s first period arrives on the morning of her cousin’s mehendi, whispers swirl like steam from Amma’s chai. With help from Dadi, her curious brother Arjun, and a teacher who loves science as much as stories, Ravi discovers that menstruation isn’t a secret to hide. It is a rhythm to understand. Set in a warm, bustling Indian household, with rangoli at the door and steel tiffins on the shelf, this gentle, giggle-friendly book answers big questions with simple facts, colorful illustrations, and practical tips. From pads and cloth to cups and calendars, Ravi learns how to stay clean, comfy, and confident, and how families can share chores and care without shame.

Brain Says, Heart Thinks!

In Heart Says, Brain Thinks!, kids follow two best buddies inside the body. Heart speaks in beats and feelings. Brain thinks in plans and puzzles. Together they send messages along nerve highways and hormone “mail,” helping you jump at a loud bark, calm down after a hug, and choose veggies over only cookies… sometimes. With playful diagrams, science-y side notes, and try-it-now mini activities, this book shows how breath can slow a racing heart, how thoughts can change feelings, and how sleep, food, and movement keep messages clear.

Jamie's Jar Full of Stars!

Jamie is having a hard day, until a glowing friend named Lumie whisks them away on a cloud to visit magical stars! Each star holds a new idea to help Jamie feel better. With their new “star jar” of coping skills, Jamie learns that big feelings don’t last forever, and that we’re never alone when we’re feeling down.

Testimonials

Having the opportunity to create a children’s book helped me understand my potential as a leader. Vidhi helped me realize that I am not too young to give back to my community.
I have ordered every one of Vidhi’s books, as a parent, it brings me relief knowing that I can help my child become more aware of their health. These books are exactly the type of impact young people should strive to have.
As a researcher, Vidhi accomplishes what many of us try to do: decentralize academia and distill it to everyone outside of the field. She makes research understandable and her books evidence-based.
